Jean Elizabeth Lichty Owen, age 99, of York Township, York, died Friday, January 24, 2025, at Kingston Court Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Owen for 68 years,

Born May 31, 1925, in York, she was the only child of the late James A. Lichty and the late Jennie C. (Fleigle) Lichty Keller, and stepdaughter of the late Clement Keller.  She was a graduate of Prowell Business School and had worked as a Teller at First National Bank, Commonwealth National Bank, and Mellon Bank. She was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Owen is survived by three sons, J. Douglas Owen, and his wife Angelia, of Pittsburgh, Jeffery A. Owen, and his wife Jeanette, of York, and Gregory R. Owen, and his wife Arlene, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Amy M. O’Brien, and her husband Steve, Cory A. Owen, and his wife Victoria, Neil P. Owen, and his wife Heather, and Kevin R. Owen; and three great- grandchildren, Jacob C. O’Brien, Declan R. Owen, and Gemma E. Owen.  She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa A. Owen.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 AM Monday, February 3, 2025, at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 25 West Springettsbury Avenue, York, with her pastor, The Rev. Stanley Reep officiating followed by a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be from 11:00-11:30 AM. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
