Jeffery J. Julius, age 77, of Spring Garden Township, York, transitioned peacefully at 6:09 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, surrounded by family. 

Jeffery was born July 13, 1947, in York to the late Linden L. Julius and Ada (Loucks) Julius. Jeffery was All-Conference Team Captain for his nationally recognized defensive college football team, ranked Top 10 in the country--Division 1 NAIA.  He was an athlete and creative who pursued his passion for art by earning a Bachelor's teaching degree with an art focus. He earned his Master's Degree and Doctorate Equivalent from Millersville University. He retired from The School District of the City of York after 35 years of teaching art and coaching football and basketball.  During his retirement, he served as a Relief House Parent at the Milton Hershey School, coached football at Eastern York High School and York’s semi-professional team, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. 

Jeffery was the devoted husband of Thalia J. (Pine) Julius, the love of his life. Coach Julius was passionate about his family, friends, education, students, the arts, athletics, and serving others. He was larger than life and saw the good in all situations, positively lifting and speaking into the lives of every person he encountered.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Jeffery is survived by his adoring two daughters, Jennifer Julius Swartz and her husband Mark, of York, and Jessica Jane Julius and her husband Josh Eigo, of Philadelphia; a loving son, Brooks Linden Julius, and his wife Laura, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; his pride and joy, four grandchildren, Brooks Linden Julius, II, Thalia J. Reihm, Addison J. Reihm and Tyson Julius Eigo; and two brothers, Linden L. Julius, of York, and Steven Julius of Hanover.

A memorial reception will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, to commemorate his remarkable life and our cherished memories.
