Jeffrey E. Letcavage

Jeffrey E.” Jeff” Letcavage, 58, of Wellsville, PA, passed away on May 15, 2023, at WellSpan York Hospital after suffering extensive injuries in a motorcycle accident on May 6th in Dover, PA.

Born on July 4th, 1964, in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Felicia (Daynorowicz) and Edward Letcavage, of Shenandoah.

Jeff was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School, class of 1983. He was currently employed by Winters Performance Products, York, as a CNC operator, a place where fellow coworkers were near and dear to his heart. It was there that he became part of a very special work family who held a private, loving roadside memorial at the accident site to honor his memory. They remembered Jeff for never having a sad day, for his constant smile, stories of life, gags, and genuine friendship. He was previously employed in the York area as a recovery group manager for Safe Haven Transitional Living. He also volunteered for the Hershey Hospital Cancer Center for many years.

He loved working with the latest gadgets and electronics, as well as spending quiet times fishing and enjoying the great outdoors, especially at Gifford Pinchot State Park, and at a local swimming hole in Schuylkill County nicknamed “The Greenie” during his youth.  Most people will remember him for his laughter and practical jokes. He loved music, was musically inclined and would have made an awesome DJ.  Classic rock and roll formed the soundtrack of his life. Jeff was always the life of the party and brightened the room with his charismatic energy. He kept everyone on their toes and wanted people to be happy and enjoy life. His brightness will be sorely missed.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents and a brother, Paul. Surviving are two children; brothers, David, of Shamokin, and Kenneth, with Lorraine, of Frackville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be remembered fondly by special friends Flory Rivera, Dover, and Matt Shaffer, Wellsville.
