Jerry L. Martin, age 71 of York, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Jerry was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 52 years, Garnette Martin. He was an incredibly proud father and grandfather, and nothing brought “Pappy”/ “Buppie” more joy than time spent with his grandkids. Whether it was taking them for a ride on the zero-turn mower, sneaking them cookies, or biking the rail trail together, those moments meant everything to him.

He spent many years working as a truck driver with Frito-Lay, where he earned the prestigious Million Mile Award—a reflection of not only his skill behind the wheel, but his consistency and dedication.

A true farm boy, Jerry came alive in the outdoors. He loved gardening, hunting, camping, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling—always ready for the next adventure or big project.

Above all, Jerry was a man of deep and steady faith. His relationship with Jesus shaped how he lived, how he loved, and how he faced even the hardest days. While his family grieves deeply, they find peace in knowing he is now whole, healed, and at home with his Savior.

A celebration of his life will be held at Friendship Community Church, 3380 Fox Run Road, Dover, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:30 AM, where family and friends will gather to honor, remember, and rejoice in the promise of eternal life. To honor his disdain for dressing up, guests are invited to wear “Jeans for Jerry.” Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30. Private burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.  William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, York, is in charge of arrangements.
