Jimmy K. Penley, age 84, of Springettsbury Township, York, died at 1:25 AM, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Hospice and Community Care Mount Joy. He was the husband of Daryl D. (Starner) Penley.
Born December 12, 1936, in Kingsport, Tennessee, a son of the late John T. and Jennie (Forbes) Penley, he was a self employed barber for 41 years, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Penley was also formerly employed at Cole Steel, GM Plant, York Storage and Ice, BAE Systems, formerly BMY, and Lamar Advertising.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Mr. Penley is survived by two sons, Jimmy K. Penley, Jr. and his wife Cathy and Scott L. Penley and his wife Susan; a daughter, Monique S. Stough and her husband Ronald, all of York; three grandchildren, Matthew Penley, Travis Penley and Sarah Oast, and five great grandchildren, Madyson Penley, Lathan Penley, Levi Penley, Nolan Penley and Henry Oast. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Avenue, York, with Pastor Greg Wahlberg officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Cemetery, Seven Valleys. Workinger Semmel Funeral Home and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
