Joan K. Fleming, age 89, of York, died at 5:41 AM Thursday,
January 14, 2021 at Wellspan York Hospital. She was the wife of
the late George J. Fleming.
Born May 21, 1931 in York, a daughter of the late Ellis S. and
Florence M. (Spangler) Kitzmiller, she was a graduate of the York
Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a Registered Nurse,
having worked for Dr. Raymond Lauer, and Dr. William Lampe.
She was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the former
Grace United Church of Christ, and was a former member of Order
of the Eastern Star, and Job's Daughters International.
Mrs. Fleming is survived by two nieces, Greta Kottmyer, and her
husband Todd, of York, and Greer Maneval, and her wife Deb
Griffin, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; a great niece, Candace
Kottmyer, of Kissimmee, Florida; and a great nephew, Tyler
Kottmyer, of York.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, January
21, 2021 at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South
George Street, York, with The Rev. David Brinker, Chaplain of
Normandie Ridge, officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-10:00.
Entombment will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. The service will be
