Joan Elaine Hopper

Joan Elaine (Klinedinst) Hopper of Seven Valleys, PA, born February 11, 1934 to the late Dorothy (Rohrbaugh) and Allen S. Klinedinst of Hanover, PA, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Hopper, to whom she has been married for 66 years, having met him in high school in 1950. She is survived by three children, Lisa C. (Hopper) Miller (E. Thomas), Richard A. Hopper (Pauline), and Dennis R. Hopper (Sharon). She was adored by five grandchildren; Kristin, Ryan, and Andrew Miller; Richard Hopper Jr. (RJ); Dennis Hopper Jr. (DJ); their spouses; and great grandson, Cash Hopper.

Joan worked alongside her husband in their businesses throughout her life, while raising their family. She enjoyed volunteering in her church and Lioness Club. In her retirement years, she and Dick traveled the country in their motorhome, eventually spending the last 18 winters in Florida, making many lifelong friends along the way.

Joan was her grandchildren’s biggest and most consistent fan of sports activities, musical events, and school and life achievements. She never missed an opportunity to be with her family or her friends, whether celebrating a life event, gathering for a board game, or cheering on her Nittany Lions.

She will be remembered most for her persevering spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love. She was God’s best example of a mother, grandmother, and friend.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Salem Christian Church, 24 North Franklin Street, Jacobus, with her Pastor, Kevin Becker, officiating.  Viewing will be 1-2:00 PM.  Private burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers who have faithfully served her for the last 17 months.
