John T. Meckley

John T. Meckley, age 87, of York, died at 2:18 AM Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Providence Place. He was the husband of Bradine O. (Pittenger) Meckley.

Born July 27, 1936, in York, the son of the late John and Edna (Orr) Meckley, he was retired as a lineman for MetEd.  He was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post #791, Viking Athletic Association, 13th Ward Political Club, Prince Athletic Association, and Grandview Golf Course.  He also served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, Mr. Meckley is survived by a daughter, Kristie L. Hamp, and her husband Douglas, of York; two sons, Gregory T. Meckley, and his wife Jill, of Dover, and Thomas J. Meckley, and his wife Barbara, of Spring Grove; six grandchildren, Joshua, Megan, Alex, Lindy, Shea, and Jesse; and twelve great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gaye Sprenkle.
