John R. Ness, of York, died at on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.  He was the husband of the late Maryann C. (Armstrong) Ness, and companion of Joan Lynch, of York.

Born November 29, 1930, in York, he was the son of the late John L. and Ida E. (Weisheit) Ness.  He retired from Voith Hydro, and its predecessor, Allis Chalmers Corporation after 41 years of employment, and was a member of the Ford Fairlane Club.

Mr. Ness is survived by two sons, John E. Ness, of Dover, and Michael D. Ness, and his wife Denise, of Manchester; Three grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Megan Godfrey, and Kaitlyn Godfrey; four great grandchildren; a brother, Ervin D. Ness, of Emigsville; and a sister, Betty Daugherty, of Brogue.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda K. Ness; and a brother Ronald E. Ness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2024, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, with The Rev. David Tietje officiating.  Viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
