Joseph Thomas Ford, III Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Joseph T. Ford III, who departed this life on July 9, 2025, just shy of his 44th birthday.

Joseph was born on August 10, 1981, in Inglewood, California, to Joseph T. Ford II and the late Mona M. Mayes. He grew up surrounded by family, love, and the kind of laughter that would follow him throughout his life. He graduated from Culver City High School, where his character and charisma began to shine. Joseph worked for over 12 years in the food service and deli department at Albertsons grocery store, where his work ethic and bright personality made a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers. In 2014, Joseph moved to Houston, Texas, where he found his calling as an automotive technician. He worked with pride and precision at Northwest Dodge, specializing in diesel trucks for more than eight years.

Known affectionately as a gentle giant, Joseph had a heart as big as his smile. He was the kind of man who could light up any room with his presence, often leaving people doubled over in laughter with his unforgettable jokes and easy humor. He was also a fiercely loyal

Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, proudly displaying his Chicago Bears tattoo and never missing a chance to rep his team.

When not at work, Joseph found peace and joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing, spending time with family and friends, and simply being present with those he cared for. He lived with purpose, laughed without reservation, and loved without condition.

Joseph has been reunited in eternal peace with his beloved mother, Mona M. Mayes. He leaves behind his loving father, Joseph T. Ford II; brothers Tommy Ford and Stephon Ford; sisters Marjani Quinones and Meghan Ford; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Joseph touched the hearts of everyone who knew him—from lifelong friends to those he met only once. His absence is deeply felt, but his spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and memories he gave so freely. He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Bible Tabernacle Christian Center, 361 South Pine Street, York, with The Rev.
