Judith Zimmerman Mann, age 80, of York, Pennsylvania, most recently of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John Stewart Mann.

Born April 19, 1945, in York, she was the cherished daughter of the late James and Kathleen (Duttera) Zimmerman. Judy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Millersville State Teachers College and devoted her early career to teaching, working first as an elementary and middle school teacher and later as a substitute teacher, primarily within the York City School District.  She continued her devotion to others throughout her life working with special needs children and volunteering with the local Special Olympics.

Judy was a deeply loving and compassionate daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She selflessly took on the role of caregiver to several family members and extended family during times of illness and need. She had a special love for animals — especially her dogs Cocoa, Muffin, Fu, and Tiki — whom she adored nearly as much as her family.

She treasured time spent with her family, friends, and neighbors, and especially enjoyed time around the water and sharing wine with loved ones on the Chesapeake Bay, Cape Cod or at the Jersey Shore.   She also found joy in continually refining and beautifying her home, expressing her creativity through interior decorating.

Judy is survived by her two sons, James S. “Jamie” Mann of Annapolis, Maryland, and Jeffrey Z. Mann and his wife, Anne Mary Wood-Mann, of Massachusetts; and her four grandchildren, Julia, Luke, Coleman and Orla.

After lengthy, hard-fought battles with both Multiple Sclerosis and Dementia, Judy is at peace.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 843 South George Street, York, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Timothy Shuey officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Judith Zimmerman Mann may be directed to support the work of the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
