Judy Ann Wherley, age 75, of York, died at 2:02 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Richard L. Wherley, Jr.

Born January 3, 1950, in York, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Ritter and the late Evelyn (Hartman) Ritter Barshinger.  She had worked as a homecare assistant and was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, Mrs. Wherley is survived by a daughter, Rachel S. Wherley, of York; two sons, Timothy E. Young, of Colorado, and John C. Wherley, of Gettysburg; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Mark and Derick Ritter.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Saint Paul’s Wolf’s Church Cemetery, with her Pastor, Frank E. Miller, officiating. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
