Kara L. Hoke, age 23, of North Codorus Township, Spring Grove, died at 7:52 PM Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, in Wilmington, North Carolina, following a tragic accident while on vacation with her family.

Born August 19, 2002, in York, she was the daughter of Kenneth L. and Lisa A. (Jordan) Hoke. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University in 2024 and was slated to begin Law School at Widener University Commonwealth Law School in August. Since graduating from Penn State, she had been employed by the York County Judicial Center in the office of the Clerk of Courts.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Nathan R. Hoke, of Spring Grove; her maternal grandfather, William C. Jordan, Jr., of Spring Grove; and paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Sonja (Shaffer) Hoke, of York. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, the late Sandra E. (Dellinger) Jordan.

A celebration of Kara’s life is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Genesis Church, 1405 Seven Valleys Road, York, with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM. All are welcome and encouraged to wear pink, Kara’s favorite color, or anything Penn State. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
