Karen E. Browning, 83, of York, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Providence Place Senior Living of Dover. She was the wife of the late Frank T. Browning.
She was born July 8, 1943, in York, the daughter of the late Preston and Evelyn (Markey) Chronister.
Mrs. Browning is survived by two daughters, Diane M. Leib and her husband, Brent, of York, and Wendy E. Mingora of York; a son, Thomas E. Browning and his wife, Jennifer, of Stanhope, New Jersey; six grandchildren; and four brothers, Preston Jr., Keith, Michael, and Timothy Chronister. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Audrey Weaver and Judy Kyle.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Yorkshire Church, 125 Edgewood Road, York, PA 17402, with her pastor, Roger Mentzer, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York.
Karen's life was rooted in God's love, and that foundation was reflected in her unwavering faith, generous spirit, and steadfast devotion to her family. She considered her family one of God's greatest blessings and cherished them with all her heart.
