Kenneth M. Wallick, Jr., age 95, of York Township died Sunday, April 24, 2022.  His daughter, Julia D. Wallick of Smyrna, Georgia, survives him.

Born March 21, 1927 in York, the son of the late Kenneth M. Wallick and Abbie C. {Wagner} Wallick, he was a 19M45 graduate of William Penn Senior High School, and attended Rider College in Trenton, New Jersey.  He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp during World War II, and trained as a combat air crewman.  After his discharge he continued to serve in the active U.S. Navy Reserves.

He began his business career with the York Dispatch Publishing Company in the advertising department, Gregory Men’s Clothing Store, and Lester W. Bentz, Jr., Real Estate.  He then established the Wallick Real Estate Office, and was a Certified Realtor and Appraiser for the Federal, State and County governments, banks and lending institutions for more than 50 years.  He was very active with the York County Board of Realtors, where he had served as president and director.  Mr. Wallick was also associated with the Pan York Corporation builders and developers of Joppatown, Maryland as their exclusive Pennsylvania Realtor and agent.  He was instrumental in the establishment, construction, and development of the Colony Park Community in York, and the Village of Olde Hickory north of Lancaster.  He continued his association with the Pan York Corp as the exclusive consultant, manager, and leasing agent when the developments were completed.  He was also a Vice President and Real Estate Broker of Record with the Regents’ Glen Community, a division of Wilmac Corp, when it was being developed.  He was appointed by several consecutive boards of York County Commissioners to serve on the Board of Assessment Appeals as a member, and then chairman, over a period of 14 years.  He also served several President Judges of the York County Judicial Center over the years as a member of the Board of View for Eminent Domain.  He was a member and past chairman of the Selective Service System {Draft Board} for 22 years.

Mr. Wallick was a member of Saint John Episcopal Church, where he served on its Vestry as Junior Warden, Associate Vestry, Stewardship committees, and usher.  He was active in numerous community and Masonic organizations.  When the new Masonic Center of York County was being considered by the three Masonic Lodges of York he was appointed to serve on the building committee.  When the Temple was completed, he served as a director and president.  He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Lodge, York Lodge #266 and continued as instructor and trustee of the lodge.  He was a member of Zembo Temple Shrine in Harrisburg; York County Shrine Club; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, York Forest Number 30; York Royal Arch Chapter Number 199; York Gethsemane Commandery Number 21, Knights Templar; and the R.W. Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania.  He had served on the board of directors of the Margaret E. Moul Home, as well as the Margaret E. Moul Foundation.  He was a former member of the Rotary Club of York, York Area Chamber of Commerce, York YMCA, and the York County Community Foundation, and had been a volunteer fireman and was a life member of Eagle Fire Company Number 7.

He enjoyed square and round dancing, was past president of the White Rose Club.  He was a Certified Instructor of driver’s safety and educational programs for the AAA Auto Clubs of York, Lancaster, and AARP, and was presented the Governor’s Safety and Educational award for teaching matured drivers of all ages.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Saint John Episcopal Church, 140 North Beaver Street, York, with The Rev’d. Eric Hillegas officiating.  Burial will be in the Lloyd Memorial Garden at the Church, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
