L. Eamonn Boyle, MD, FACP, age 79, of Wrightsville, passed after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Susan V. (Green) Boyle.

Born June 28, 1946, in Dublin, Ireland, he was the son of the late William and Mary (McMahon) Boyle.  He was raised in Ireland and attended medical school at University College Dublin. He came to America in 1974, for what was only supposed to be a 1 year residency. He met his wife Susan while she was working as a nurse in the same hospital. 

He had tremendous pride in America, while Ireland always had a huge part of his heart. He was a founding member of Cancer Care Associates, where he was an oncologist/ hematologist for 41 years. He considered it an honor and privilege to care for his patients and the community. If you were his patient, you knew you mattered, and he adored his work family. He loved people and respected everyone from every walk of life. If you knew him, you loved him. He loved to golf and was useless in giving course recommendations because he thought they were all "brilliant" and "had something to teach you."

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Dr. Boyle is survived by a daughter, Ciara Young, of Manheim, and her two daughters, Genevieve and Vivienne; a son, Brian Boyle, and his wife Laura, and their sons, Rhys and Cameron, all of Guilford, Connecticut; two sisters, Mary O'Farrell and Marice Binchy, both of Ireland; and countless nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 219 South Beaver Street, York.  Visitation will be 4-6:00 PM Friday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, and 9-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church.
