Larry Blumenthal
York - Larry Blumenthal, age 82, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 9:03 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Myers) Blumenthal.
Born June 19, 1939 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Samuel and Barbara (Sell) Blumenthal. He first served in the US Navy on the USS Macon, and then worked as a carpenter in heavy highway construction for HJ Williams, and its successor Susquehanna Construction. He was a member of United Steelworkers Local # 15253, and the Ninth Ward Republican Club. He was also an avid Penn State football fan, the passion in which he instilled in his grandchildren, and held season tickets for 39 years.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Mr. Blumenthal is survived by his loving family, daughters, Jodi A. Lutz, and her husband Michael, of York, and Sharon A. Campbell, of Manchester; four grandchildren, Brandon Wittman, and his wife Jodi, Jennifer Buhrman, and her husband Lawney, Jason Campbell, and Justin Campbell; five great grandchildren, Megan, Lawney, Emery, Madden, and Audrey; a sister, Patricia Krebs, and her husband Robert, of Florida; a brother, Andrew Blumenthal, and his wife Rebecca, of Hanover; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Blumenthal, of Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jeffrey Campbell; and a brother, Daniel Blumenthal.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, July 29, 2021 at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, with The Rev. Louis Stubbs, III officiating. Viewing will be 9-10:00 AM. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover, with flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
