Leslie P. “Les” Scrivens, age 62, of North Codorus Township, York, died at 6:45 AM, on Thursday, June 3, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Kathy A. (Shaffer) Scrivens.
Born May 12, 1959, in Salina, Kansas, he was a son of Ruth Anne (Seebold) Scrivens Deitle and the late Francis G. Scrivens, Sr. He was a past president and coach of the North Codorus Baseball League, a bus driver for Bailey’s Coach, and coached for the Spring Grove Football Association, and was an avid hunter, Nascar, and Eagles fan, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Mr. Scrivens is survived by three children, Leslie P. Scrivens, Jr. and his wife Crystal, Jennifer M. Lentz, and Lori A. Scrivens; a foster son, Dominic Vail; eleven grandchildren, Austin, Meghan, Brendan, Hunter, Jackson, Riley, Braelynn, Colton, Trevor, Jayce, and Jaxtyn; three brothers, George Scrivens, Jr., Andy Scrivens, and John Scrivens; and a sister Elizabeth Buhrman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Scrivens and a granddaughter, Natalie Matos.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 9, at The Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Home and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, with the Rev. Harry Buhrman officiating. Viewing will be from 1:00-3:00 PM.
