Libby Spangler, age 35, of York, died tragically Friday, May 24, 2024, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born March 25, 1989, the only child of Victor and Wendy (Zerbe) Spangler, she was a 2007 graduate of Red Lion High School, and a 2011 graduate of Temple University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Communications and Musical Theater. She was a member of Locust Grove United Church of Christ and was active in York Little Theater. She was also a member of the original York County Honors Choir.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandmother, Shirley Zerbe; and paternal grandmother, Kaye Spangler; cousins, Chris Zerbe and Megan Woods who were like a brother and sister to her; close uncle and aunt, Terry and Sue Zerbe; her travel buddy, uncle, David Stanley; aunt, Licia Lehman; uncle Robert “Bobby” Snook; and other numerous cousins. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Douglas Zerbe; paternal grandfather, Carl Spangler, who was her music buddy; grandmother, Klara Taylor; great grandmother, Esther Paules, who was her best buddy; and Tech Sergeant Daniel L. Zerbe, who was her hero and like a brother. She is also survived by her many animals.
A casual service to celebrate Libby’s life is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc. 863 South George Street, York, with her friend and neighbor, Rev. Paul Bentzel, officiating. A reception with the family will immediately follow. Burial will be private. Livestream of services will be available at www.facebook.com/KuhnerAssociates
