Linda L. “Cookie” Stambaugh, age 84, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 8:11 AM Monday, June 1, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side.

Born June 18, 1941, in York, a daughter of the late Roy and Marie (Frey) Fuhrman, she worked as a self-employed hairdresser and enjoyed raising her great granddaughter, Serenite Lake, as well as gardening, baking, shooting pool, karaoke, and everything about Christmas, and listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by two daughters, Pamela S. Vought, of York, and Jody L. Sheffer, of Carlisle; a son, Mark K. Stambaugh, of Hellam; six grandchildren, Shena Gladfelter-Garcia, Tina Vera, Jessica Wooten, Jason Lake, Shirea Lake, and Kirstin Noonan; seventeen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Steve and Terry Fuhrman. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Hinderer, and Nancy Mathison; and a brother, Lavern “Duck” Fuhrman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at The Victory Athletic Association, 471 South Ogontz Street, York, from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, is assisting with arrangements.
