Llewellyn C. “Bud” Ness, age 93, of Spring Garden Township, York, died at 8:30 PM Sunday, November 17, 2024, at his residence.  He was the husband of Jo Ann (Lutz) Ness.

Born February 16, 1931, in Seven Valleys, a son of the late Ammon and Sevoy (Miller) Ness.  He retired after 22 years of service in the US Navy and US Air Force.  While serving in the military he also worked as a bartender for the NCO Clubs.  After retirement he worked at the Hotel Hershey, Red Lion American Legion, Hotel Yorktowne, the Lafayette Club and, most recently, as a security guard of the County of York.  He had been an active member of Gold’s Gym and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

In addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, he is survived by two sons, Steve Ness, and his wife Rita, of Arizona, and Wade D. Fitzkee, and his wife Donna, of Lewisberry; a daughter, Beth A. Sproviero, of Berkley Springs, West Virginia; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2024, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with The Rev. Chester Joines officiating.  Visitation will be 1-2:00 PM.  Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
