Margo Ann Zwald

Margo Ann (Shipley) Zwald, age 69, of Portland, Oregon, passed away at home on January 26, 2023. 

Margo was born in York, Pennsylvania, on November 6, 1953, to Helen (Schmidt) Shipley and Samuel H Shipley, Jr. She attended Linden Hall School for Girls and Green Mountain College. 

Margo married Robert Zwald in 1977, and together they spent many happy years in Oregon. She was employed by Wells Fargo Bank and PartyLite.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and spending time with her dogs. Margo was also a proud survivor of Stage 3 Colon Cancer. 

Margo is survived by two sisters, Robin Shipley Tarbert, and her husband Samuel, and Karen Shipley-Coble, and her husband Matthew; a brother, Peter D. Shipley; nieces, Jessica Shipley, Rachel Southward, and her husband Kevin, and Sarah Tarbert; nephews, Samuel Shipley, IV., and his wife Hanna, Derek Tarbert, Trevor Coble, and his wife Colleen, Ian Coble, Alexander Coble, Brandon Coble, Todd Glatfelter; four great nieces; two goddaughters, Rita and Monique Jimenez; and was predeceased by father Samuel H Shipley, Jr; mother Helen S. Shipley, and brother Samuel H. Shipley III. 

A Memorial reception will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with The Rev. Susan A. Oelrich officiating. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
