Maria Siakavellas, age 91, of West Manchester Township, York, passed away surrounded by those she loved, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 6:45pm. She was the loving and dedicated wife of the late Athanasios Siakavellas.

Born on May 25,1934, in Domnista, Greece, the daughter of the late Ioannis and Anastasia Sideras, she was a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in York, PA.

Maria Siakavellas is survived by her daughter, Spiridoula Margetas, and her husband Petros, of York, PA, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Dr. George Margetas (Patricia) and their children Maria, Petros and Adriana; Athanasios Margetas (Aglaia) and their children Spiridoula and Petros; Dr. Sevasti Margetas (Kenneth) and their children Athina, Petros and Paraskevas; Alexandra Siakavellas (Vaggelis) and their child Apostolos; Petros Siakavellas. She was also preceded in death by her two beloved sons, Petros Siakavellas and Apostolos “Paul” Siakavellas.  She is also survived by her sister Katerina Alexopoulos of Dillsburg and her brother Gerasimos "Mike" Sideras of York.  She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Konstantinos Sideras and Athanasios Sideras and her sister Georgia Panopoulos.

Maria always remarked that her late husband left her the greatest treasure- her 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her legacy in life was- being Mom, Yiayia and her faith in Christ. She left a lasting imprint on the lives of her children and great grandchildren in her dedication and involvement throughout their lives. Her pride and joy even in her final years was seeing her great grandchildren who she loved so warmly.

To many others, Maria was a friend, a fellow parishioner and she was well known for her charismatic personality, strength and resilience. She lived life to the fullest and her lively and uplifting spirit will be missed.

Maria's greatest accomplishment was family and faith, and her favorite title was Yiayia. Her loss is immeasurable, her imprint never fading and memory eternal.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at York Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 2500 Pine Grove Road, York, with The Rev. Economos Andrew Tsikitas officiating. Viewing will be 10:30-12pm. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
