MaryBeth Stewart

MaryBeth Stewart, age 79, of York Township, York, died at 12:26 PM Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Wellspan York Hospital.  She was the wife of Robert H. Stewart, Jr.

Born December 27, 1941 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late Verren and Carrie (Dinsmore) Flinchbaugh, she was a 1959 graduate of Red Lion High School, and a 1965 graduate of West Chester State Teachers College.  She was the owner of The Shoe Gallery Etc. for 30 years and was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, The Country Club of York, and Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club in Vero Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Stewart is also survived by two sons, Robert H. “Rob” Stewart, III, and his wife Lindsey, of York, and David J. Stewart, and his wife Mary, of York; a daughter, Leslie A. Stewart, of Fairfax, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Robbie, Natalie, Josh, Justice, Jayda, Kate, Annika, Javier, and Gabriela; a brother, James Flinchbaugh(Doris) of Red Lion; and a sister, Ruth Ann Werking, of Red Lion.  She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Slenker; and a brother, Dr. Donald Flinchbaugh.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 AM Monday, November 22, 2021 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 309 South George Street, York, with The Rev. John Kuchinski as Celebrant.  A visitation with the family will immediately follow.  Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.

MaryBeth loved her family dearly, cherished her lifelong friends, and adored the ladies at the Shoe Gallery Etc. with whom she worked.
