Maxine Serata Epstein, age 89, of York, died at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 24, 2021
at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Bernard Epstein.
Born January 1, 1932 in Bridgeton, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Albert and
Frances (Feldman) Serata, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Russell Sage
College in New York. She was a member of Temple Beth Israel, the Jewish
Community Center, White Rose Bridge Club, Country Club of York and an avid
supporter of the York Symphony.
Mrs. Epstein is survived by a son, Robert L. Epstein, and his wife Marla, of Encino,
California; three daughters, Janet E. Wolper, and her husband Barry, of Newtown,
Margie E. Horn, and her husband Kenneth, of New York City, and Sally E. Zeiberg,
and her husband Andrew, of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; ten grandchildren, Adam
(Melissa), Amy (Jeff), Alex (Olga), Katie (Sam), Jedd (Jilly), Bennett, Ally, Daniel,
Julie, and Emily; and eight great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by
her sister, Onie Chock.
A private graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 28, 2021
at Prospect Hill Cemetery, with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan officiating. Kuhner
Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of
