Melvin Robert Singer Obituary

Melvin Robert Singer, age 88, of Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of York, died at 1:23 PM Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Fort Pierce.  He was the husband of Leah (Mofsowitz) Singer.


Born June 30, 1937, in York, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mae (Lipsitz) Singer.  He was a graduate of Temple University and retired from real estate.  When living in York he was a member of Ohev Shalom Congregation. 


In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is also survived by two daughters, Lauren Ortiz, and her husband Alonso of Fairfax, VA, and Andrea Singer Aini, her husband Mateen, of Dallas, TX, and 5 grandchildren; Sam Ortiz, Dalia Ortiz, Joseph Ortiz, Shiya Aini and River Aini.


Mel was an avid collector of antique cars his entire life. He was also a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, B’nai B’rith International and Army veteran.  When not touring around in one of his old cars, you could find him traveling the world with his wife and visiting his children and grandchildren.


A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at South Hill Hebrew Cemetery, with Rabbi Melody Davis officiating.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
