Michael A. Garland

Michael A. Garland, age 71, of Airville, died at 3:45 AM Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Rebecca S. (Abel) Garland.

Born December 10, 1953, in York, a son of the late William R. and Grace R. (Altland) Garland, he worked as a firefighter for Spring Garden Township for 26 years. He was also a member of Grantley Fire Department and Springettsbury Fire Department.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Garland is survived by a daughter, Erin R. Deitz, and her husband Michael, of Emigsville; a son, Christopher M. Garland, of York; a grandson, Frank P. Doutrich; and a sister, Susan D. Lauver, and her husband Michael, of Dillsburg.

A visitation is scheduled for 2:00-4:00 PM, Monday, August 11, 2025, at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Help Fund, 2500 South George Street, York, PA 17401.
