Morris J. Free, age 78, of Newberry Township, Manchester, died at 8:56 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Bonnie J. (Kohler) Free.

Born November 16, 1947, in York, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Lois L. (Wagner) Free.  He retired from Voith Hydro as a Machine Operator and, after retirement, he returned to Voith Hydro as a Consultant. He also was a wartime Veteran serving in active duty in Vietnam as an airplane mechanic.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Free is survived by a daughter, Francesca Free, of Los Angeles, California; a son, Scott Free and his wife Pam, of Tallahassee, Florida; two stepsons, Thomas A. Wales, Jr., and his wife Diane, of Dover, and Greg A. Wales, and his wife Trish, of Ephrata; four grandchildren, Kendall, Zoe, Tyler, and Ella; and a sister, Diana D. McCall, of Maine. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward L. Free.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 12:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church, 150 Jefferson Avenue, York. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is assisting with arrangements.
