Nancy J. Hershner, age 100, of Springettsbury Township, York, died at 5:34 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Irwin H. “Bud” Hershner, Jr. whom she married in 1950. 

Born January 24, 1926, in Loganville, PA, the youngest daughter of the late George A. and Annetta J. (Glatfelter) Goodling, she graduated from William Penn High School in York in 1944 and attended Drexel Institute, now University, in Philadelphia. This education led to her dream job as a buyer for Women’s Sportswear at The Bon Ton Department Store in York, PA. She thoroughly enjoyed her buying trips to NYC.

She was a board member for the York Historical Society, Atkins House, and the March of Dimes. She was also a lifelong member of the Loganville Emanuel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir until her mid 90’s!

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, nana and friend. Whether she was: volunteering to feed the homeless; singing with “Voices of Love”; packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child; supplying the local food bank; tending to her vibrant garden; attending her grandsons’ activities; or preparing a meal for a family gathering, she poured her heart and soul into all she did.

She is survived by her daughters, Beth J. Hershner, of Alexandria, Virginia, Daphne A. Hershner, of York, and Ann L. Reynold (Todd), of Charleston, South Carolina; and three grandsons, Peter A. Reynold (Kelly Jo), Samuel S. Reynold, and Atlee H. Hershner (Ali). She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Isabel Goodling and Patti Levis; and her three brothers, Robert, Richard and William Goodling.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York with The Rev. Dr.  Eddie D. D. Miller officiating. A reception with the family will immediately follow. Private burial in Loganville.
