Naomi M. Schiding

York - Naomi M. Schiding, age 100, of York, died at 4:04 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Schiding.

Born May 27, 1920 in York, she was the last surviving of eight children of the late William and Catherine (Brickner) Brasch. She was a 1938 graduate of York Catholic High school, where she also was employed for 27 years. Prior to that worked for York Mail Service for 23 years, and as a Registrar for the Pennsylvania Division of Vital Records. She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, and had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross and White Rose Hospice. The family would like to extend gratitude to Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Schiding is survived by a daughter, Dorothy E. Daniels, and her husband Michael, of York; a son, Frederick R. Schiding, and his wife Carol, of York; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and ten step great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 309 S George Street, York, with The Rev. John Kuchinski as Celebrant. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
