Noreen L. Call, age 91, of Springettsbury Township, York, died at 1:27 PM, Friday, May 26, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of Richard W. Call. Noreen will be remembered as a kind, strong, and loving woman, mother, and grandmother who cherished her time with family and friends.
Born July 25, 1931, in Hamlin, Maine, the daughter of the late Adelard and Jeanne (Webber) Ayotte, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences from York College while raising three children. Throughout her life, she worked in various positions including legal secretary and case worker with the Federal Heating Assistance Program. She was a voracious reader, talented seamstress, and avid world traveler.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Call is survived by two daughters, Lisa A. Gumunick, and her husband Steve, of Fort Myers, Florida, and York, and Sharon M. Hart, and her husband John, of Mechanicsburg; a son Richard M. Call, and his wife Christine, of Catonsville, Maryland; three grandchildren, Eric H. Hart, Mikayla N. Call, and Emily J. Hart; and three brothers, Howard, Vaughn, and Arnold Ayotte. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean Call, and a brother, Rodney.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York. A reception with the family will immediately follow. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott, Massachusetts at a later time.
