Norma Jean (Busser) Chapman, 77, of New Cumberland, PA entered into eternal life at home on Friday November 28th, 2025.
Norma Jean was born at home on March 16th, 1948 in York Haven, Pa. Beloved daughter of the late Margaret E. (Reeser) and Marshall C. Busser Sr. In the 70s she graduated from Empire Beauty School with her teachers license. Traveled to New York, NY where she studied the art of skin care under Christine Valmy, “The First Lady of Esthetics.” Norma Jean was the first esthetician in the Lancaster, PA. area to offer European facials. Studying massage therapy in the 80s, she opened Studio C Salon in New Cumberland, PA. At that time there were no categories under the Bell Telephone Book for legitimate massage therapists. She then requested that a new therapeutic massage category be started. Her salon was then the sole listing in the phone book that year.
Her love of music took her to Carnegie Hall with the El Shaddai Singers. During the holidays family members would be greeted with joyful caroling. President of the Adler Keffer Story league. She would share stories while adding her love of music. Playing Taps on the harmonica, Norma Jean would tell the true story about Staff Sgt. Guy E. Shelley, a family member who perished in the Libyan Desert. after bailing out of the Lady Be Good. Sharing her home over a quarter of a century with four generations of rollicking Lhasa Apsos. She would name her first puppy Maffy after Marilyn Monroe's most famous Maltese that she had received from Frank Sinatra. Norma Jeans rare beauty, natural creativity, sharp intelligence and quick humor helped her to live a victorious life over schizophrenia. She was a model of how to overcome life's most difficult challenges to all who knew her. Today she is in the loving arms of her sweet savior Jesus Christ.
Norma Jean is survived by her spiritual daughter Tanya Lynette Moppin of New Cumberland, Pa. Sisters Nancee Laster of Loxahatchee, Fl, Janice and husband Kenneth Flinchbaugh of Dover, PA. Brother Zane Busser of York, PA. She was preceded in death by brothers Marshall Busser, Jr and his late wife Marlene formerly of York Haven, Pa and Harry Busser formerly of Fl. Nieces Lisa Amspacher, Lori Walker, Leah Niemirovich, Melanie Keener, Melissa Toomey, Melinda Hatterer, Angela Blakemore, Valerie Busser, Tammy Busser, Gina Henry, Dawn Trout, and Monica Flinchbaugh. Nephews Marshall Busser III and Warren Busser. Sister in law Sandy Busser of Gainsville, Fl. Two stepsons Barry Grubb of New Cumberland, PA and the late Thomas Grubb. Survived also by an extended loving family through Tanya, the Moppins, the Smiths and the Jones. Norma Jean will also be dearly missed by countless numbers of great nieces, great nephews and wonderful friends!
On Thursday December 4, 2025 at 2pm a graveside service will be held for family members at the Manchester Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester, PA. On Sunday December 7, 2025 from 12-3pm friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life. This will be held at “The Event Cafe” in New Cumberland, Pa. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, are in charge of arrangements.
