Norma Jean (Shearer) Kopp, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 13th, 2024, at her home in Lewes, Delaware.

Born June 10, 1946, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Helen (Thoman) Shearer. She is proceeded in death by her husband Kenneth “Frog” Kopp with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. 

She was a 1964 graduate of West York High School and held many jobs and roles throughout her life, always making many friends along the way.  Her biggest accomplishment was creating, owning and operating K & K Flower & Gift Shop for 28 years. What was important to her was not only the people she got to meet but all the smiles she got to put on her customers’ faces.  After many great years of running her own business, she had the opportunity to run the Weis Markets flower department. 

Norma was a self-taught florist with a magnificent talent; after retiring she continued to tinker and play around with silk flowers, making beautiful flower arrangements. What meant the most to her was giving the flower arrangements away just so she could share happiness with family, friends and strangers. Norma loved to talk to anyone that would listen. She could make conversation with just about anyone. She touched so many people. 

Norma is survived by a son, Kenny Kopp, III (Sue), of Virginia; and a daughter, Tina Shoemaker (Todd), of York; three grandchildren, Tedi Gibson (Dustyn), of Virginia, Carlee Shoemaker (Scott, Boo Boo), of York, and Kenny Kopp, IV, of Dover; three great grandchildren, Caidyn, Linkyn, and Dallas “Bean” Gibson. 

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Ray Block for the outstanding and compassionate care he gave to Norma. She would always say “he is my best friend in Delaware”. 

We ask you to please join us to celebrate Normas life. She requested a party, and we would love to honor her wishes with your help. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York.  Visitation will be 1-2:00 PM.
