Patricia Kuhner, age 64, of Sebastian, Florida, died tragically on Saturday, December 7,2024, at the hands of her son, who had suffered a lifelong history of mental illness. He then took his own life.  She was the wife of the late Albert L. Kuhner, Sr, to whom she was married for 30 years, and the former wife of the late Michael E. Rockwell, Sr. 

Born June 23, 1960, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Carrie (Lehman) Snyder.  Patricia was a graduate of Uniontown High School, and then began her career in Information Technology at Chestnut Ridge Counseling Service.  She later moved to Sebastian, Florida, where she held various positions in computer technology, and became well known for her work in the field.

Patty was incredibly active in animal rights organizations, dedicating much of her time and energy advocating for the well-being of animals.  She was a loving person who made friends easily and brought joy to those around her. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.  

Patty is survived by her sister, Roberta Syner of Barefoot Bay, Florida; a nephew, Richard Kelley; nieces, Alisa Kelley, Jennifer Sybol and Michelle Syner, many close friends and her beloved dogs, Cooper, Mister, Ceaser and Ginger. In addition to her parents, husband and former husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Seese. She was proceeded in death by her son, Michael E. Rockwell, Jr.

Patty will be buried with husband, Albert L. Kuhner, Sr., at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, we should all recognize the magnitude of mental health illness, and perhaps consider a donation, or volunteering at a local crisis intervention center.
