Paul F. Markel, II, age 78, of Mount Wolf, passed away at 1:34 AM Monday, February 24, 2025, at SpiriTrust Lutheran Village at Sprenkle Drive, Skilled Care. He was the husband of Virginia E. (Shopp) Markel.

Born January 26, 1947, in York, the son of the late Paul F. and Ruth H. (Myers) Markel he graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1964 and from York Junior College in 1966. He worked for York Tape and Label for more than 30 years and was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Manchester, where he served on Church Council for several terms. Paul was an avid gardener and enjoyed saltwater fishing from Fisherman’s Wharf in Lewes, Delaware and was a member of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Markel is survived by son-in-law, Devin O’Connor and several cousins. He was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Amanda Markel O’Connor.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Friday, February 28, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church, 66 South Main Street, Manchester, with his Pastor, The Rev. Beth Schlegel STS, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be in Manchester Lutheran Cemetery. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, are in charge of arrangements.
