Paul J. Stough

Paul J. Stough, age 88, of Manchester Township, York, died at 8:45 AM Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at SpiriTrust Lutheran in the Village at Sprenkle Drive.  He was the husband of Mary Lou (Lehr). They were married for 66 wonderful years. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone.

Born February 23, 1933 in York, a son of the late Peter C. and Gertrude J. (Swartz) Stough, he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He spent 16 months in Korea and was awarded various medals for his service. Paul’s first job, after returning from Korea, was at the York Naval Ordinance Plant, and its successor AMF.  He then began his career at Caterpillar, Inc., from where he retired as a machinist.  He was a member of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, and enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and Penn State football. He was quite a good baseball and horseshoe player and loved to feed corn to the wild deer and turkey at his home in Dover, PA.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stough is survived by two sons, Allen E. Stough, and his wife Teddianne, of Dover, and Rodney L. Stough, and his wife Carol, of Panama City, Florida; two grandsons, Steven (Samantha) Stough, and Michael (Megan) Stough; and three great grandchildren, Parker, Layla and Knox Stough. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David and Philip, and a sister, Marie Brenneman.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Mount Rose Cemetery, with flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.  The Rev. Keith Fair will officiate.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York is in charge of arrangements.
