Raymond E. Wantland

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022 Raymond Wantland of York, PA, loving husband and father, passed away at age 68 after a long battle with liver cancer.

Ray was born on October 8, 1953 in York to the late Victor and Mary (Landis) Wantland. He graduated high school from York Vo Tech and served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. Jovial and gregarious, Ray’s friendly and upbeat spirit left a genuine joyous and positive impression on those who were fortunate to spend time with him. He loved to travel and spend time with his family more than anything else.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Wantland, his sister Nancy Marstellar and brother in law Jim Marstellar, his daughter Elyssa Williams and son in law Shawn Williams, his daughter Heather Duncker and son in law Steve Duncker, his son Timothy Wantland and daughter in law Jess Wantland, two grandson and one granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, with full military honors. Guests are invited to gather at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance to the Cemetery at 12:45 PM.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
