Reed A. Prowell, age 88, of York Township, York, died at 9:15 PM Friday, August 16, 2024, at York South Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the husband of Janet E. (Eber) Prowell.

Born October 5, 1935, in York, a son of the late Charles and Catherine “Gail” (Ashway) Prowell, he earned his Bachelors Degree from Shippensburg University and his Master’s in Education from Pennsylvania State University. He was retired from West York High School, where he taught High School for 33 years, and also coached cross country and track and field.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, Mr. Prowell is survived by a daughter, Melissa A. Prowell, of York; a son, Michael A. Prowell, and his spouse Ann Campbell, of York; two granddaughters, Madeline G. and Olivia C. Prowell; a brother, Tim Prowell, of Bellevue, Washington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A reception with the family will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York.
