Richard C. “Rick” Shuff, Jr., age 67, of York, was called home Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from his battle with cancer.
Born October 5, 1955, in Columbia, Pennsylvania, the son of Richard C. and Connie (Brown) Shuff, of Spring Grove, he was a 1973 graduate of William Penn Senior High School where he was a member of the football team. After graduation he served in the United States Army. He was retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot, where he worked as a forklift operator and, after retirement, had worked part-time for Brockie Pharmacy. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and played softball for their team for many years. He also was a member of Prince Athletic Association, where he had served on the Board of Directors, and was an avid Green Bay Packers, Penn State Football, and New York Yankees fan. He always enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shuff is survived by a sister, Trudy A. Craley, and her husband Bill, of Grasonville, Maryland; two nieces, Angela Seaman, and her husband Eric, and Brooke Kelly, and her husband Joe; a nephew, Rocky Craley, and his wife Catherine; and a great niece, Saleen Seaman. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie L. Shuff.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York, with his pastor, The Rev. Dale Parker, officiating. Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM. Burial will be private. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements. Military rites will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
