Richard E. Toomey

Richard E. Toomey, age 73, of Newberry Township, York Haven, died at 9:58 AM Sunday, April 26, 2026, at his residence.

Born March 12, 1953, in York, he was a son of Phyllis E. (Hake) Toomey, of Manchester, and the late Richard H. Toomey.  He was a graduate of York Vo Tech and worked as a maintenance mechanic for New York Wire and more recently as a millwright rigger for Karma Industries. He was a member of Hunters Valley Sportsmen’s Association and the Fairview Township American Legion Post 974.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Toomey is survived by a son, Daniel E. Toomey, of York Haven; his daughter-in-law, Ruth Walker, of York Haven; a granddaughter Juliane Toomey; and six siblings, James, Glen, Dennis, Juanita, Cindy, and Roxanne. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Daniele Toomey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
