Robert J. Rineer Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Rineer, a husband, brother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center.
Bob was born on July 13, 1943, and was the son of the late Samuel Rineer, Sr. and Doris Breneman Rineer. From 1961 until 1965, Bob served with honor and distinction in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, Bob worked for the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board.
Forty-three years ago, Bob married Rosemary Demmitt Smith and became a stepfather to Christine and Melissa Smith. He is survived by his brothers, Samuel and Mike Rineer.
Bob was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Columbia, PA. He also had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life, such as passionately following the Detroit professional sports teams. Bob particularly cherished the arrival of spring, reveling in the beauty of flowers and the playful presence of rabbits, which never failed to bring a smile to his face. Bob will be missed.
William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is assisting with arrangements.
