Robert K. Sweeney

Robert K. Sweeney, age 67, of West York, died at 5:45 AM Saturday, July 18, 2026, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Rhonda J. (Kraft) Sweeney.

Born September 3, 1958, in York, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Luana M. (McIlvain) Sweeney. He retired from GEA after 48 years of employment as a welder, beginning his career with the company in 1975.  He was a member of the Viking Athletic Association, West York VFW, Prince Athletic Association, Vigilant Social Club, 13th Ward Political Club, BD Social Club, and the South End Democratic Club.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, Mr. Sweeney is survived by two daughters, Katie L. Nagel, and her husband, Jonathan, of York, and Amanda M. Conway, of York; four grandchildren; and a sister, Marsha Munson, of Chambersburg.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, with Pastor Lib Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
