Rodger L. Updegraff Obituary

Rodger L. Updegraff, age 80, of Newberry Township, Etters, died at 8:21 AM Friday, December 26, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary L. (Lady) Updegraff.


Born March 17, 1945, in Lewisberry, he was a son of the late Glenn Updegraff, Sr. and the late Lucy L. (Sipe) Updegraff.  He was the owner of Pine Road Garage, and the former owner of Newberrytown Auto Salvage, both of which he founded.  In his free time enjoyed going to South Mountain Dragway.


In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Updegraff is survived by three sons, Mike Updegraff, and his wife Conny, of Etters, Kenneth E. Updegraff, and his wife Melissa, of York Haven, and Gregory L. Updegraff, of Etters; a daughter, Kimberly S. Snelbaker, and her husband Ryan, of York Haven; five grandchildren, Alex, Allison, and Corey Updegraff, and Logan and Cole Snelbaker; five great grandchildren, Arabella, Jeremiah, Blake, and Hannah Updegraff, and Leo Corcobelos ; two brothers, Glenn Updegraff, Jr., and Anthony Updegraff, both of York Haven; and a sister, Leona Markley, of Etters. He was also preceded in death by a great grandchild, Benin Updegraff; a brother, Thomas L. “Sonny” Updegraff; and two sisters, Dorothy “Dimps” Cook and Grace “Babe” Richcreek.


Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, January 3, 2026, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, with Pastor Ryan Whisel. Viewing will be from 9:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Help Fund, 2500 South George Street, York, PA 17403.
