Roger G. “Chip” Marshall, Jr., 37, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 8, 1985, he was the son of Roger and Linda Marshall of York.
At the age of 15, Roger attained the rank of Eagle Scout. A 2003 graduate of Dallastown Area High School, Roger moved to Philadelphia putting his witty, charismatic personality to good use in the restaurant industry, working at some of the city’s most well-known restaurants. In his free time, Roger was a passionate outdoorsman whose loves included hiking, camping, snowboarding, and especially trout fishing.
In addition to his parents, “Chip” is survived by his sisters, Brandi Blose of Emmaus, PA, and Wendy Carney and husband Michael of Allentown, PA; his “Fab Five” nephews and nieces, Nickolas and Zackary Blose, and Elizabeth, Olivia, and Julia Carney; and his best friend in the world, Tikaani “Tika” Mazie, his Texas heeler.
A celebration befitting Roger’s life will be held Monday, June 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM under the Hilltop Pavilion at Samuel S. Lewis State Park in York, PA. A picnic luncheon at the park will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Roger’s memory to York County Parks, 400 Mundis Race Road, York, PA 17406 or Wellspan York Health Foundation, 2500 South George Street, York, Pa 17403 and specify York Cancer Patient Help Fund.
