Ruth H. Jones

Ruth H. Jones, age 96, of York, died at 9:40 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Pappus House. She was the wife of the late John H. Jones.

Born February 22, 1927, in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, a daughter of the late William J. and Elsie (Thompson) Hughes, she retired as a nurse’s aide from Pleasant Acres.

Mrs. Jones is survived by four daughters, Colleen L. Mummert, and her husband Robert, of York, Gwendolyn S. McFadden, and her husband Sean, of York, Donna R. Spangler, of Dauphin, and Beth M. Gingrich, of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Danner; a great grandson, Sage P. Warfel; two brothers, William, and Frank Hughes; and a sister, Joan Alderman.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2023, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with The Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
