Samuel F. King, age 85, of Conewago Township, York, entered into his final resting place at 8:45 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Senior Commons at Powder Mill, with loving family by his side.  He was the husband of the late Rebecca E. (Mitzel) King.

Born June 22, 1938, in Conewago Township, a son of the late Frank and Catherine (Schubauer) King, he was a lifelong farmer and worked for Servomation and Edgecomb Steel.

Mr. King is survived by a daughter, Kelly S. Witmer and her husband Bryan, of York; two grandchildren, Matthew Witmer and his wife Amanda; and Amanda Achenbach and her husband Benny; and six great grandchildren, Piper, Harper, Ivy, Cade, Aiden, and Brantley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Simon and Joseph King, and a grandson, Kyle M. Witmer.

Sam, also lovingly known to family and their friends as “Pa” was a true family man and would do anything for them.  He lovingly cared for his wife Becky “Ma” for 12 years, as they attended all of their grandchildren’s events bringing them much happiness.  He was a true farmer at heart if there ever was one, beginning at a young age until the day of his passing.  He was happiest on his John Deere tractors and in the fields, or anything related to farming. Sam enjoyed attending his High School reunions and breakfasts with his school friends and watching a good western.  In his later years, he enjoyed raising his goats. They brought him many years of laughs and joy.

A graveside service for family and friends is scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2024, at Strinestown Cemetery, with Chaplain Tim Munson officiating. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to thank Caring Hospice of York for the outstanding care given in his last few months, especially Antoinette and Brandi.  To everyone who helped us during this long journey, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
