Terry Lee Hess
A Kind Soul
Terry Lee Hess, 65 of Thomasville, PA, born January 6, 1956, passed away
peacefully on March 20, 2021. Son of the late Jane Lachey Hess and the late
William Hess, Terry lived for many years in “the hollow” near Wellsville where he
was well known in the area.
In his younger days, he owned a 59 Chevy that he loved and often said he could
do an awesome “burn out” in that sweet car. Terry enjoyed talking with friends
and family. He was a social member of the West Manchester VFW where he loved
to have a drink and play the tickets. He also attended the Heritage Senior Center
where he enjoyed meeting new people and playing cards.
Terry lived with his brother Jim and sister-in-law, Patricia Starry Hess in
Thomasville. There he loved being outdoors enjoying nature, and caring for the
family dogs. He was affectionately called the fire god for his careful tending of the
Friday night fire as family and friends gathered to celebrate the beginning of the
weekend. He loved to test his luck with lottery tickets, enjoyed going out to eat
and watching NASCAR races as well as watching NCIS and CSI.
Terry is survived by his brother, Jim Hess and his wife, Patti, and four sisters;
Sharon, Trudy, Tammie, and Holly. He is also survived by many nephews and
nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William Hess, and his
sister Carole Stone Waltersdorff.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at
William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 2150 Carlisle Road, Shiloh. Friends and
Family may attend the viewing from 1-2:00 PM. Burial will be at the Salem Union
Cemetery in Dover, PA.
The family would like to thank the staff at the York Hospital and the fine staff at
Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy for the loving care he received in his final
days.
