Terry L. Jacobs Obituary

Terry L. “Butch” “Jake” Jacobs, age 81, of New Oxford, passed away on December 8, 2024.

Born June 6, 1943, in York, he was a son of the late Roy and Ethel Jacobs. He proudly served our country in the US Army, where he exhibited exceptional bravery in active duty during the Vietnam War.  Among other distinctions, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was an established roofing and siding contractor who loved working with his brothers Donald, Charles, Joe and Bill Jacobs. He also loved hunting, fishing, and camping.  He always was there to lend a helping hand, and to selflessly assist friends and family when needed.

In addition to his brother Bill, Butch is survived by two sons, Michael Jacobs, and Zachary Jacobs; three daughters, Linda M. Lambert, Jody A. Larkin, and Cody Jacobs. Both Zack and Cody still mourn the passing of Butch’s beloved wife Deborah Jacobs, who preceded him in death.  He was also blessed to have numerous nieces and nephews, with whom he was very close, and spoke of his love for his granddaughters and grandson as well as his many great grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with The Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating.
