The Rev. Darwyn J. “Darby” Nace, age 82, of East Manchester Township, Mount Wolf, died at 3:15 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Sonia L. (Whare) Nace.

Born November 27, 1941, in York, a son of the late Oliver and Mary (Eppley) Nace, he was a graduate of Central High School, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University, and Master’s Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.  He retired in 2016 as Visitation Pastor of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester and, prior to that, had served Churches in Duncannon, Felton, and Lewistown as well as full time Evangelism in United States, Curacao and Australia.

In addition to his wife, of 61 years, Pastor Nace is survived by a daughter, Jody L. Bowman, and her husband Bob, of Manchester; and his beloved grand dog, Maggie. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis O. Nace.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, ​4360 Board Road, Manchester, with The Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. Viewings will be at the church from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday and 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday. Burial will be in Hoover Cemetery, Starview.
