The Rev. Dr. Roy C. Smith

The Rev. Dr. Roy C. Smith, Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, founding Pastor of Shrewsbury Gospel Temple, had his Homegoing on November 16, 2023.

Born in Jefferson, North Carolina in 1942, one of eight children, later married the late Marion Miller Smith in 1961. Later in 1961, they moved to Aberdeen, Maryland and he became Associate Pastor at Stepney Faith Center. In 1969, he founded Shrewsbury Gospel Temple in Shrewsbury and continued to Pastor there until his death.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Shaffer, and his wife Marion Smith.

He is survived by a daughter, Marilenna Bosley (Samuel) of Freeland, Maryland, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Sadie Lyall of North Carolina.

Homegoing service will be held at Shrewsbury Gospel Temple, 713 West Forrest Avenue, Glen Rock, PA 17327, on Sunday, December 3, at 12:00 Noon.  Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is assisting with arrangements.
